About Steve Akers:
Mr. Akers is Managing Director and Senior Fiduciary Counsel at Bessemer Trust. In this role, he serves as Chair of the firm’s Estate Planning Committee and works closely with clients in the Southwest Region regarding their estate and trust planning issues.
Steve serves as Immediate Past President of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and is a member of the Advisory Committee to the University of Miami Philip E. Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning, where he is a frequent speaker. He has previously served as Chair of the American Bar Association Section of Real Property, Trust & Estate Law and as Chair of the State Bar of Texas Real Estate, Probate & Trust Law Section.
Steve earned a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and a B.S. in chemical engineering from Oklahoma State University.

EPCCT has a contractual obligation with the UT Club that requires the organization to give a guaranteed number for meals 5 business days in advance of each event. We have had a considerable number of no-shows recently and as such, leading to wasted food and money. As a courtesy, if you need to cancel your RSVP, please contact EPCCT 5 business days prior to the event so that we can adjust our guaranteed number without penalty.
