DESCRIPTION:\n\n \nCocktail Hour: 5:30PM-6:30PM\n \nDinner & Presentation: 6:30PM-8:00PM\n \nSpeaker: Leslie Kiefer Amann\n \nWilliam Shakespeare’s 1616 will offers surprising lessons that remain relevant to estate and business succession planning today. After the death of his only son, he restructured his estate and business succession plans to protect his wife, daughters, and future descendants. Last-minute revisions to his will also suggest he adapted his plan in response to changing family circumstances.\n \nThe presentation also explores succession themes in King Lear, where poor leadership and emotional decision-making lead to disastrous business and family outcomes. Together, Shakespeare’s will and writings highlight the importance of flexible planning, thoughtful succession, and adapting to life’s unexpected changes.\n \nAttendees will gain a fresh perspective on timeless estate and succession planning challenges by examining how Shakespeare adjusted his plans after significant family changes. The session demonstrates the value of customizing strategies, protecting family legacies, and using evolving financial and legal structures to address changing circumstances.\n \nAbout the Speaker:  Leslie provides legal advice on business and estate planning and is a fiduciary consultant.
