DESCRIPTION:\n\n \nSPONSORED BY:\n \n[](https://argentfinancial.com/subsidiary/argent-trust/)\n \nSpeaker: Dr. Gerry W. Beyer\n \nProf. Beyer’s presentation analyzes judicial developments relating to the Texas law of intestacy, wills, estate administration, trusts, and other estate planning matters. The discussion of each case concludes with a moral, i.e., the important lesson to be learned from the case. By recognizing situations that have led to time consuming and costly litigation in the past, estate planners may reduce the likelihood of the same situations arising with their clients and judges may increase the likelihood of their decisions being upheld on appeal\n \nAbout Dr. Beyer: \n \nDr. Gerry W. Beyer joined the faculty of the Texas Tech University School of Law in June 2005 as the first holder of the Governor Preston E. Smith Regents Professorship. He is the recipient of over twenty teaching and writing awards including the Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award, the most prestigious university-wide teaching award at Texas Tech. Prof. Beyer is the editor of the most popular estate planning blawg in the nation which after being named for five consecutive years to the ABA Journal's Blawg 100 was awarded Hall of Fame status in 2015.
